Marjorie Fay Wright, 86, passed away Friday, February 03, 2012 in Abilene. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with interment following in the Garden of Good Shepherd in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Marjorie was born on February 8, 1925 in Content, Texas the daughter of D.D. Aldridge and Sarah McMillon Aldridge. She grew up on the family farm in Runnels County and was the youngest of 12 children. After high school she attended business school in Ft. Worth where she met Carl T. "Sonny" Wright. They were married on Valentine's Day of 1948 and enjoyed 59 wonderful years of marriage. Marjorie was a homemaker and worked in Civil Service for 25 years. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church in Lawn for over 50 years. She enjoyed sewing, traveling and doting over her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Kent Finley of Coleman; she was the loving "Maw Maw" of two grandchildren, Kelley Vieth and husband Tory of Ft. Worth and Chance Finley and wife Kristi of Abilene; three great grandchildren, Payton and Lance Finley of Abilene and Jack Vieth of Ft. Worth and a fourth on the way who will be named Brett Vieth; also surviving are her brother, Amos Aldridge and wife Dorothy of Goldsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents, her husband and her brothers, Warren, Willie, J.D., Dalton, and Amon Aldridge and sisters, Lola Little, Lou Bailey, Alma Roberts, Lillie Rose and Lottie Rose preceded her in death.
