Alice Ruth Embree, daughter of Ben Harrison Embree and Jewell Violet Richardson and buried in Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Longview, Gregg Co., Texas. 

Alice "Ruth" Embree, 80, of Longview died Wednesday morning, Jan. 26, 2005, in a Longview care center. She was born March 4, 1924, in Tuscola to Ben and Jewell Embree. She was a member of the Greggton Church of Christ and for many years was involved in the TOPS Club. Ruth attended Abilene Christian University and had worked as a telephone operator. She loved reading and painting. Her brother, Albert Eldon Embree, preceded her in death. Survivors include a great-nephew, Sean Clayton Embree; her cousins, Jackie E. Walker, Maxine Embree Brown, Irene Embree and Doris E. Woerner. She will also be missed by a host of special friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today, Jan. 29, at Lakeview Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
