Margaret Gail Dunbar Stephenson

(January 28, 1925 ~ November 20, 1984)

Gail, daughter of William Herbert Dunbar and Fannie Belle Groves, married to Zane Grey Stephenson and buried in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Cemetery, New Braunfels, Guadalupe County, Texas.

Funeral services for Gail Stephenson of 73 Rock Grove will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Zoeller Funeral Home with the Rev. Barbara Galloway-Edgar officiating.  Burial will follow at Guadalep Valley Memorial Park.

Mrs. Stephenson, 59, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital.

The daughter of Walter H. and Fannie Belle (nee Groves) Dunbar, she was born Jan. 28, 1925 in Taylor County.  She married Zane G. Stephenson Nov., 1, 1941 in Ballinger. Mrs. Stephenson taught as an English Professor at Lee College in Baytown, Texas until she retired. And as a teacher, she was active in many professional organizations furing her career.  She and her husband moved here six months ago.

Survivors include her husband, Zane Stephenson of New Braunfels; a daughter, Barbara Gail Gother of Galena Park; a son, Bobby Zane Stephenson of Katy; two sisters, LaVerne West of Midland and Merle Mahler of Temple, and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include O.L. Stephenson, Kenneth Stephenson, Bobby Stephenson, Brian Stephenson, Ken Cother and Timothy Mahler.

Memorials may be sent to the charity of one's choice.
