Floy, daughter of John J. McDonald and Effie Mae Stapp, married to Marvin Carl Neithercutt and buried in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, Midland, Midland County, Texas.


Floy Nethercutt, of Midland, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2006.

She was born September 30, 1912 to John McDonald and Effie Mae Stapp McDonald in Manchester, Texas. Floy was reared and educated in Bradshaw, Texas where she married Carl Neithercutt on October 28, 1932. The couple moved to Hobbs in the late 1940s and then to Midland on September 1, 1950. She was a homemaker and her memberships included: North "A" Street Church of Christ; Eastern Star Rebecca Lodge and the Midland Home Demonstration Club.

Floy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl, in 1986; and two brothers, Junior McDonald and Leonard McDonald.

She is Survived by her son, Carl Douglas Neithercutt and wife Lavern, of Odessa, Texas; daughter, Janna Akins and husband Ron Byrum, of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren, Terri Lynn Drake, Connie Tate, Dedra Denny and Tammy Nelson; as well as five great-grandchildren, Michael Maddox, Seth Tate, Keverly Renfro, Dennis Drake and Rhiannon Castleberry.

The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home on Friday, September 22, 2006 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Funeral services have been scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
