Gladys Olean Hammit Sanders, son of William Calvin Hammit and Melissa Pearl Able, married to Morris Dotridge Sanders and buried in Snyder Cemetery, Snyder, Scurry County, Texas.

     Gladys Olean Sanders, 99, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 North 12th Street with Elder Gary Mabry officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery, in Snyder, Texas, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday before the funeral service at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Sanders was born March 18, 1917 in Fisher County, Texas to the late William Calvin and Melissa Pearl Able Hammit. Gladys and her husband, Morris, worked in retail for many years. Her strong faith and christian beliefs, along with the love of her two sons and her grandchildren, kept her going all these years. Mrs. Sanders will forever be missed and remembered by all that knew her.

     Gladys is survived by her two sons, William Darrell Sanders (Anne) of Paris, Texas and Gary Maurice Sanders of Abilene; two grandchildren, Melinda Sanders (Monica) and Tony Sanders (Jennifer); five great grandchildren, Blake, Andrew (Britney), Annelise, Tyler Sanders and Trent Bullard; and three great-great grandchildren, Brenden Sanders, Jayden Sanders and Tatum Sanders.

     Mrs. Sanders is preceded in death by her parents, William and Pearl Hammit; her husband, Morris Dotridge Sanders and all her siblings.
