Cary, son of James Box Roberts and Ethel Olivia Calk, married to Velma Pauline Landers and buried in Coleman City Cemetery, Coleman, Coleman County, Texas.


Cary A. Roberts Dies Suddenly; Funeral Pending

Cary A. Roberts, 45, owner and operator of Cary's Little Bear Grocery in South Coleman, died suddenly at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 1962, in Ft. Worth.  Funeral services are pending at Stevens Funeral Home.

Mr. Roberts, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James B. Roberts, was born in Brown  County Aug, 9, 1917, and was married to Miss Pauline Berry in Ballinger Dec. 7, 1942.  A veteran of World War II and member of the Baptist Church, he had lived in Coleman County most of his life.

Among his survivors are his wife, Mrs. Cary Roberts of Coleman; two sons, Cary Douglas and Loyd Jack Roberts, both of Coleman; one daughter, Paula Jean Roberts of Coleman; two brothers, J.B. Roberts of Marfa and Loyd R. Roberts, stationed with the Air Force in Canada; and three sisters, Mrs. W.C. Cate of Odessa, Mrs. Wilburn Kunkel of White Oak and Mrs. Claude Cunningham of Chickasha, Okla.


Coleman Funeral For Cary Roberts

COLEMAN - Services for Cary Roberts, 45, of 203 W. 8th St. will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Stevens Funeral Home chapel with Elder C.B. Wallace, assisted by Douglas Robison, officiating.

Burial will be in Coleman City Cemetery.

Mr. Roberts died Wednesday at 9:45 p.m. in a Fort Worth hospital.

He was a native of Brown County and was born Aug. 9, 1917.  Mr. Roberts had been in the retail grocery business for the pas five years.

He was married Dec. 7, 1942 to Pauline Landers in Ballinger.  He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Box Roberts.

He lived in Coleman County most of his life.  He was a membrer of the Baptist church and a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Miss Paula Jean  Roberts of Coleman; two sons, Cary Douglas and Lloyd Jack, both of Coleman; two brothers, J.B. Roberts of Marfa and Loyd R. Roberts at an Air Force base in Canada; three sisters, Mrs. W.C. Cate of Odessa, Mrs. Wilburn Knukel of White Oak, Tex., and Mrs. Claude Cunningham of Chickasha, Okla.
