Lilly LaRue Stroope Burton

October 26, 1922 - April 11, 2008

Lilly L. Burton, age 85, of Waxahachie, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008 at her home. She was born October 26, 1922 in Erath County, Texas to John Robert and Middy (Mosley) Stroope. Lilly married William J. 'Jack' Burton on February 17, 1943 in Sweetwater, Texas.

Survivors include her children, William Burton, Jr. and his wife Paulette of Waxahachie, Jeneva Young of Tyler, Robert Burton and his wife Rosemary of Snyder and Edna Vandeventer and her husband Tim of Waxahachie; 19 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren and one brother, Billy Joe Stroope of Trinity, Texas. Lilly was preceded in death by her husband of 64 year, William J. ?Jack? Burton on July 1, 2007 and two sisters, Ona Mae Burton and Kathleen Stroope.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Rainey officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 12 noon until service time.
