Mary Judith 'Judy' Trocano Fahey, daughter of  Joseph J. Trocano and Margaret Anne East, married to William A. 'Bill' Fahey and buried in Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Abilene, Taylor County, Texas.

Mary Judith (Judy) Trocano Fahey, of Abilene, Texas, moved into her mansion in heaven on May 31, 2016 in Abilene, Texas.

Visitation will be at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, June 5, 2016. The rosary will be said at 7:00 PM.

The funeral will be at 10:30 AM Monday, June 6, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5410 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, Texas, celebrated by Deacon Gary Rhodes. Burial will follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road. A reception will be held at the Holy Family Parish Center following the burial. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Judy was born in New Albany, Indiana and was the daughter of Margaret (East) Trocano of New Albany and Joseph J. Trocano of Boston, Massachusetts. She was married for 47 years to William (Bill) Fahey whom she had known since they were 14 years old. Judy went to elementary and high school in Dorchester, Massachusetts. She is a graduate of Boston State Teachers College with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. She earned a Masters Degree in Counseling and Human Development from Hardin-Simmons University. Judy taught school in Boston, Massachusetts before moving to posts in both the USA and Europe with her husband during his military service. After moving to Abilene, Judy was both a first grade teacher and elementary school counselor for the Jim Ned CISD and was in education for a total of 30 years.

Judy was loved and admired by family, friends, fellow educators and students for her warmth, wisdom, selflessness and sense of humor. She made a difference in too many lives to count and her memory will sustain for many years to come.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Laura and husband Mick McCulley of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son, Matthew Fahey and wife Dusty of Abilene, Texas; her sisters, Barbara Trocano of Quincy, Massachusetts, Joanne Rinkulis, husband Peter and niece Elizabeth of Braintree, Massachusetts; and her brother, Charles Trocano and spouse Peter Nelson of Lunenburg, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Katherine Miller-McCulley, Sterling Fahey, Hannah Miller and Dylan Fahey. She would also tell you she is survived by many wonderful friends who have been like family to her for decades.

Memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, any charity that takes care of the homeless, especially homeless veterans, and your favorite organization involved in the fight against cancer. Thanks are extended to the medical staffs in Abilene and Lubbock who helped her in her fight with cancer these last 6 years. Special thanks go to Dr. Mark Reedy at the Grace Medical Center in Lubbock, who, through his deep caring for his patients, passion for research in curing cancer and extraordinary surgical skills, gave her more quality years with her family and friends than anyone expected her to have.
