H.B. Williams

(December 18, 1920 ~ April 22, 2023)

H.B., son of Hammond Bouldin Williams and Mattie Estell Riddle, married Bettye Jo McGee and buried in Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.

H.B. Williams passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the age of 102.

H B Williams was born December 18, 1920, in Tuscola, Texas to Hammond and Mattie Williams. He grew up on their farm and attended Jim Ned school in Tuscola where he participated in various sports. After graduation, he attended John Tarleton College where he was on the basketball and track teams.

H B moved to Dallas and found the love of his life, Bettye McGee. They were married in July 1943. Five months later, H B was drafted and served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945. After returning to Texas, H B and his father-in-law opened a diner in downtown Dallas for two years. H B then became a Tool & Die Maker working at Chance-Vought plus other companies until his retirement in 1985. H B and Bettye also owned three different laundromats during his career and into retirement.

H B was very active in his church in multiple capacities, including deacon for 60 plus years. They loved to travel all over the United States, Canada, Europe, and Mexico. H B was always known to his family and friends for his wonderful sense of humor. H B exhibited the love of Christ to everyone he met. H B & Bettye were married for 76 years until her entrance into heaven in 2019.

H B is survived by daughter, Linda Nichols and son, Hal Williams and wife, Sharon. His grandchildren Sharon Langord and husband, Russ; Stacey Denny and husband Reade; Angela Krowka and husband Kyle; Sean Seise and wife Mallory. Great-grandchildren Brittney Boyd and husband Brad; Brooks Binnion; Brenna O’Neal and husband Rowdy; Miranda Denny, Kaden Krowka, Karson Krowka, Seth Seise, Kayleigh Krowka, Brooklynn Sims, Kasey Krowka, Nicholas Langord, Emmalyn Langord, and Eden Seise. Great-great-grandchildren Hudson, Colt, Copelynn, Lex, Bowen, and Tripp. Nephew Corky Barton and niece Sherry Roberts and several great nieces and nephews. H B was preceded in death by wife Bettye, his parents, his sister and grandson Bryan Williams.
