Violet Maxine Barrington Welch

July 20, 1921 - December 18, 2006

Maxine Welch, 85, of Abilene, passed away on Monday, December 18th, 2006, at a local care center.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. at Buffalo Gap Cemetery on Wednesday, December 20th, with Rev. James Greer officiating, under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd St.

Mrs. Welch was born in Lawn, Texas on July 20, 1921. She lived all her life in the Lawn and Abilene area. She married Ted Welch in Taylor County and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage. He preceded her in death. Maxine worked for McKesson & Robbins Pharmacy for 26 years before retiring. She was a Protestant.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Welch and his wife, Medriece, of San Antonio and Bobby Welch and his wife, Trudy, of Abilene; one brother. H.L. Barrington of Abilene; a sister, Marie Gill, of Abilene; four grandchildren, Dara Welch, Michael Welch, Staci Goff and Joe Bob Welch; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Lida (Hicks) Barrington and her husband, Ted Welch.
