Don Parker McMillon

(September 25, 1938 ~ April 21, 1949)

Don Parker McMillon, son of Asa Clement 'Ace' McMillon, Jr. and Ruth Hazelle Parker and buried in Tuscola Cemetery, Tuscola, Taylor County, Texas.  Don attended Lawn Longhorns with the class of 1956.


LAWN  April 22--Funeral services for Don Parker McMillon, 10, fatally injured at 5:30 p.m. Thursday when a truck struck him on Main Street here will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lawn Methodist Church.

The Rev. Elton Wyatt, pastor of the Ovalo-Lawn Methodist curcuit will officiate assisted by Minister E.C. McHurin, Winters, and the Rev. A.H. Williams, pastor of the Lawn Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Tuscola Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home of Tuscola.

All his playmates will be honorary pallbearers.  Active pallbearers will be Jimmie Dale Papasan, Don Ham, J.W. Aldridge and Winston S. Aldridge.

The boy is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. A.C. (Ace) McMillon, Jr., Lawn, a sister Lady Nell McMillon, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. McMillon, Sr., Lawn, and his maternal grandfather, Dr. J.J. Parker, Lawn.

He was born Sept. 25, 1938, at Lawn.

Young McMillon darted in front of a truck driven by James Haynes, 15.  Lawn State Highway Patrolmen who investigated said the accident was unavoidable.
