I am Marilyn's twin brother, Marlen McDonald. I am using her Facebook account as many of you would not recognize my posting.

I apologize to anyone with whom I have not yet spoken to advise you of my twin sister's recent passing on Monday, June 19th. I was blessed to spend the last eight weeks with Marilyn at her home in Mineola. We shared many wonderful hours each day, and she kept her amazing sense of humor to the end.

Marilyn, in her usual organized fashion, had pre-arranged funeral wishes, and they will be carried out as she requested and expected.

Marilyn wished to be cremated and interred with her late husband, Ray Brown at the Veteran's Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas, without any graveside services.

Instead, you are invited to join family and friends at a memorial service in Marilyn's honor, to share memories, stories, love and friendship.

As most of you know, Marilyn was a lover of all animals, and spent much of her life and energy devoted to their rescue and safe keeping. In lieu of flowers or other rememberances, Marilyn requested that donations be made to any no-kill animal shelter or neuter/spay organization of your own choosing.

It is hoped that this advance notice of the service will allow sufficient planning for attendance by most all who would wish to do so.

I and my family look forward to the opportunity for those we know, and also those of us not yet acquainted, to celebrate the life of the wonderful, caring and loving person who is Marilyn McDonald Brown.

The Memorial service will be held at the below address, and is scheduled for Saturday, July 29th, at 1:00 pm in consideration of those needing some travel time.
