Harold Ray 'Boogie' Wilson

Abilene, Texas - Harold Ray "Boogie" Wilson, 52, died Monday, October 1, 2007, in an Abilene hospital. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2007, in Lawn Baptist Church with Reverend Price Mathieson officiating. Burial will be in McBee Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola.

Harold was born January 17, 1955, in Del Rio to Don H. and Betty J. Smith Wilson. He attended Jim Ned High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the aircraft carrier USS Independence.

He married Donna Bassinger on October 20, 1985, in Abilene. He was a lineman in pole line construction for 30 years, and at the time of his death, he was employed by Tessco Construction. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Wilson of Abilene; one daughter, Mika Wilson of Potosi; four sons, Jeff McWhorter, Mike McWhorter, Jeremy McWhorter, and Merle McWhorter, all of Abilene; two sisters, Debbie Harrison and husband Tom of Ovalo, and Joni Mercier and husband Gary of Berlin, Maryland; his father Don H. and wife Honey Casey Wilson of Abilene; five grandchildren; a niece, Janie Turner; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
