Leroy Sanders

(November 9, 1937 ~ May 3, 2023)

Leroy Sanders, son of Otis Reuben Sanders and Allene Alice Hancock, married to Carolyne Ann Hastings and buried in Rogers Cemetery, Rogers Community, Ovalo, Taylor County, Texas.

OPLIN: Leroy Sanders, 85, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Leroy was born in Midland, Texas on November 9, 1937, to Otis and Allene Sanders. He was the youngest in his family.

Leroy grew up in the Rogers community and attended school at Rogers then Lawn, he then spent his high school years at Bandera where he loved playing football and basketball.

In his younger years Leroy enjoyed riding horses, as he grew older, he still loved riding but in the truck cab. He never missed an opportunity to drive South Taylor County roads especially making "the block" with his sons.

He is survived by his sons Tracy and wife Alicia; Otis "Buster" and wife Connie; daughter Nancy Ann and husband John; brother "Uncle" Bill Sanders. Leroy was proud of his grandkids, Natasha Thomas and husband Jeff Botts; Brice Sanders and wife Chelsea; Hayden, Hadley, Ryan, Rex, and Paris, Sanders and his four great grand children that will miss growing up with is wisdom and humor.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyne (2011), son, Roy Lee (2019), and sisters Nancy Carol Johnson and Elsie Ackerman.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday May 4, 2023 in the Rogers Cemetery, directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola.
