Thelma Laverne Haynes McAdams DeSart, daughter of James Allen Haynes and Rena Shankle, married 1st to Charles Wilbur McAdams, married 2nd to Robert DeSart and buried in Dewey Cemetery, Lawn, Taylor County, Texas.


Thelma Haynes McAdams DeSart, 79, of Leesburg, Florida, formerly of Abilene, died Saturday, January 4, 2003. A memorial service was 6 p.m. Monday, January 06, 2003, in Beyers Funeral Home Chapel in Leesburg.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2003, in Dewey Cemetery, southwest of Lawn, Texas, directed by Fry- Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola. The body will be in state all day on Wednesday, January 8, and Thursday morning, January 9, at Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home.

Mrs. DeSart was born in Rising Star to James and Rena Shankle Haynes on January 19, 1923. She grew up east of Lawn where she graduated from Lawn High School. She married Charles W. McAdams and after his death in 1983, she married Robert DeSart. She moved to Florida in 2000. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by both her husbands; and a son, Ted McAdams in 1982.

Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Hall of Leesburg; a daughter- in-law, Joanie McAdams Foster of Acworth, Georgia; one brother, Oscar Haynes of Canyon Lake, Texas; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
