Wilma Jo Hawkins Abbott

(August 10, 1927 ~ April 10, 1990)

Wilma, daughter of John Allan Hawkins and Bessie Beatrice Hancock, married to Thomas Van 'T.V.' Abbott and buried in McBee Cemetery, Ovalo, Taylor County, Texas.


Ovalo - Wilma Jo Hawkins Abbott, 62, died Thursday at a Richmond, VA., hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at McBee Cemetery with the Rev. James Martin officiating, directed by Fry Funeral Homes of Tuscola.

Mrs. Abbott was born in Ovalo and moved to Dallas in 1948 after marrying and then to Virginia in 1960.  She graduated from Ovalo High School.

She was an X-ray technician at Fort Bliss in El Paso and at Camp Barkeley during World War II.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, T.V. Abbott of Parksley, Va.; three daughters, Eska Accashian of Richmond, Va., Donna Sue Abbott of Glen Allen, Va., and Bonnie Lou Walker of Parksley, Va.; two sons, John T. Abbott of Springfield, Va., and Timothy Van Abbott of Munoa, Va.; her mother, Bessie Cook of Ovalo; a sister, Jean Hawkins Marshall in Ovalo; a brother, Garland Hawkins of Cisci; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
