Sydney Genevra French Loveland Rosene Cook

Sydney, daughter of Albert Sidney George French and Emmie Rubie Light, married to Kenneth Hadley Loveland, Roy Wesley Rosene and Eldon Hardy Cook and buried in Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Harris County, Texas.


Sydney Rosene Cook, 93, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Big Spring, Texas, died Nov. 9, 2011.

She was born to Emmie Rubie and Albert Sidney George French on April 11, 1918, in O'Donnell, Texas.

Sydney was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Big Spring. She was active in many church and civic activities, including the civic theater group and many Passion of Christ pageants.

Sydney was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Rosene; and daughters, Kay Loveland and Dana Baker.

She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Eldon H. Cook, formerly of Big Spring, Texas; a son, Kyle W. Rosene; as well as six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at the Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Salvation Army.
