Evelyn, daughter of Ocia Crayton Grissom and Vivian Alice Hastings, married Alexander Morris Bain and buried in Chapel of Memories Columbarium and Mausoleum, Oakland, Alameda County, California.

Evelyn Bain a long time resident of Alameda, CA went to be with our Lord on October 25, 2011, at the age of 85.

Evelyn was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Alameda, a member of the Eastern Star, active in AARP, and enjoyed her work as a volunteer for Alameda Hospital.

Evelyn leaves behind her beloved family:  son Ronald Bain, her daughters Maurine Hoffman and Donna Carter, her daughter-in-law Debbie Bain, and her sons-in-law Dan Hoffman and Jacob Carter, her sisters Eloise Shaffer and Gwen Fowler, her brother-in-law Ray Miller, her sister-in-law Margaret Blount, her brother-in-law Thomas Bain and his wife Deanna, her six grandchildren Dawn, Daniel, Jeff, Angee, Chris, and Shona, her eleven great grandchildren, and her fourteen nieces and nephews.

The memorial service in celebration of Evelyn's life will be held at 2pm on Saturday November 5th at the First Baptist Church of Alameda, 1515 Santa Clara Ave, Alameda, CA 94501.  In Lieu of flowers you are invited to make a contribution to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
