
Rosalie Webb Barrington

Rosalie, daughter of William Charles Webb and Edna Henrietta Farmer, married to Oscar Ray Barrington and buried in Tuscola Cemetery, Tuscola, Taylor County, Texas.
Tuscolan Killed, Second Critical in 3-Car Smashup
One person was killed and four others injured, one critically in a three-car collision about 11:30 a.m. Thursday one and one-half miles south of Tuscola on U.S. 83.
Mrs. Ray Barrington, 62, of Tuscola, was dead on arrival at Hendrick Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Vesti Embery, 64, of Tuscola, was admitted to Hendrick in critical condition. Doctors and attendants worked with her for several hours before she was transferred to the hospital's intensive care unit. Her injuries are a fractured pelvis, fractured right knee, fractured right wrist, fractured nose, and multiple lacerations and bruises.
Hospital spokesman said she was conscious and her condition had improved to "fair" at 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
Robert Adams, 56, of Tuscola, was reported in good condition with facial lacerations, lacerated knee and possible chest injuries.
Two persons were taken to City Hospital in Winters. Rubin Archie Long of Winters was treated and released with cuts and bruises.
Hospitalized
Mrs. Estelle Baldwin Wyche of 1289 Palm, Abilene, was admitted to Winters City Hospital with a knee injury.
Adams was driving a 1962 Falcon with Mrs. Barrington and Mrs. Embery, his sister, as his passengers. They were going to San Angelo to attend the funeral of a friend.
Long was alone in a 1965 Chevrolet pickup. Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Wyche were in a third car Mr. Wyche was uninjured.
Witnesses said one car pulled around to pass the other and ran head-on into the pickup.
Funeral Today
Funeral for Mrs. Barrington will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church in Tuscola with the Rev. Jackie Mintz, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Bill Alexander, pastor of Tuscola First Methodist Church. Burial will be in Tuscola Cemetery, Fry Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Barrington was born Roselee Webb on June 5, 1902 in Coleman County. She moved to Taylor County as a child and to Tuscola in 1912. She was employed by the telephone company in Tuscola as an operator for a number of years.
She married Ray Barrington Dec. 17, 1922 in Tuscola.
Survivors include her husband; three uncles, T.L. Webb of Anton, Fayette Farmer of Novice and Will Farmer of Novice; four aunts, Mrs. Allen Sewell of Novice, Mrs. J.L. Pope of Freeport, Mrs. J.W. Killebrew of Temple, and Mrs. Joe Greer of Spade; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Glen Barrington, Dale Barrington, H.L. Barrington, Eldon Landers, A.V. Landers, Don Landers, Herbert Landers and Ray Dean.
