Evelyn Wanna Groves Blackwood

Evelyn, daughter of Fred Lafayette Groves and Wana Bell Ellinger married to Wayne Everette Blackwood and buried in Buffalo Gap Cemetery, Buffalo Gap, Taylor County, Texas.

Evelyn Groves Blackwood, 96, passed into Heaven on May 1, 2015 at the Rosewood Care Center in Killeen.

She was born on August 3, 1918 in Buffalo Gap, Texas. Evelyn married Wayne Blackwood of Tuscola on April 12, 1936. They were residents of Belton, Texas from 1946-1958. They moved to Killeen in 1958. Mrs. Blackwood was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990. Mrs. Blackwood is survived by her son Terry and his wife Jackie of Grapevine, Texas; grandsons Steve Blackwood of Boyd, Texas, Mike Blackwood of Irving, Texas, and Robert Blackwood of Paradise, Texas. She is also survived by three great-grandsons, Ethan, Cole, and Justin.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Buffalo Gap Cemetery in Buffalo Gap, Texas with Rev. Jack Riley officiating, and Evelyn will be laid to rest in her beloved hometown.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Rosewood who were a big part of her family over the past few years.
