After working for Enbridge in the Barnett Shale play (West of Fort Worth) for a little over 10 years, we (mainly them) decided to part ways. I am currently working for Atmos Energy out of their Waxahachie Service Center. Work is great, traffic.....not so much. I've been in the Oil & Gas business as an engineer since 1990. When I got of school at Texas A&M with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, I went to work for Blue Bell Ice Cream in Brenham, TX. Yes, I could eat all I wanted while I was at work. After 3 years of not making much money, I went to work in Oil & Gas. I have lived in White Oak, TX / San Angelo, TX / Morrison, OK and now, just outside of Azle, TX. When I first got out of Jim Ned in 1982, Charlie Asa Henry and I went to Western Texas College in Snyder, TX. After 3 semesters I left for Texas A&M. I played two years on the 12th Man Kickoff Team while at A&M. We won two SWC football championships while I was there and another one after I left. I got to dress out for the 1986 Cottobowl against Bo Jackson and Auburn and I got to play in the 1987 Cottonbowl against Ohio State. Coach Jackie Sherrill and the 12th Man Kickoff team members wrote a book about his time at A&M and the wild and crazy guys that made up his kickoff teams. All proceeds go for scholarships. Check us out at www.12thmkot.org. If you click around long enough you can order the book "No Experience Required", it's a good sports read, even if you didn't go to A&M.
I got married in 1990 to Becky. After 24 years of marriage, we parted ways in December of 2014. We had Elle (Elizabeth) in 1994 and Avery in 2000. Elle is my athlete while Avery is his own person. He does like basketball but he's not into the competition aspect of it. Elle graduated from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, TX with a degree in Graphic Design. She went to play basketball for UMHB but a high school back injury prevented her from being able to play. With a daughter, I now know how all those Dads felt when I showed up on their porch asking if their daughter was ready to go out.....just as soon shoot them all.
I had a blast attending Jim Ned my last two years of high school. I knew some of the guys from a previous summer of baseball so it wasn't too hard a transition. Being involved in sports helped. My Mom & Dad asked why there was usually a different girl waiting with me after practice when they picked me up that first part of my Junior year. Looking back, it was a very good decision to transfer to Jim Ned...good education, good people, lots of girls, and a good community. Now, if I can just keep my kids from doing 1/4 of the things I did, they might make it.

Happy Birthday Jill! Hope you have a grateful day!!
Keith, ....what the heck are you teaching those kids in Hico, Texas! I guess coming from Buffalo Gap, Hico is understandable, but at least Buffalo Gap was next to Abilene. Is the big steak cook-off something that's worth attending?
