It is amazing how quickly the time has flown since graduating from Jim Ned! I lived in Lubbock for 12 years, graduating from Tech with a bachelor degree in psychology in 1976 and a master degree in 1979. After working as a "psychotherapist" (that's what we were called in the 70's) for 5 years, I decided to make radical career change to sales, and worked for a medical product manufacturer. Loved that twist in the road and worked for the company over 11 years in territory & region sales management and ultimately to general manager. Then I did another professional turn and moved from medical to home design, serving as the National Sales Director for a dinnerware/gift company. After 2 years, I was ready to get back to healthcare and worked as a general manager for the next 10 years with companies that provided ambulatory and home infusion therapies. But, my best job ever, is the one last one ~ selling my house in Southlake and purchasing a house in Grapevine Historic District to open as bed and breakfast! The house needed a great deal of attention and repair, and while the lot was large, it was void of any landscaping. So it was an on-going project for me in restoring the property to its current state (which I might say it quite lovely - little biased I know). Then after operating Garden Manor B&B for over 11 years, I sold it and retired in 2014 to Midlothian. I love the country living!

There are so many! From my "fall" falling off my head during basketball practice to the go-cart fiasco with Becky and Margaret - thank heavens that Larry came along to help us get Margaret into his pickup for medical care . . . Larry, my cousin, rescued me a lot! Larry was the one that helped me when my dad had this great idea for me to sit on siding in the back of his pickup bed to transport building supplies to lake for a cabin we were building. Well, the paneling & I didn't last long once he picked up some speed on the highway and yes, Larry, was there to help load me back in the truck to go to the hospital. I had a concussion which might explain a great deal about my behavior latter in life. Some of my best memories are simple ones of Becky and Margaret along with Bobby, Donald, and Stanley hanging out at the laundry/payphone booth, chasing rabbits, or visiting graveyards. I always enjoyed going to Marilyn's house to swim and to watch the latest Elvis Presley movies with the Marshalls.
