After attending Abilene Commercial College, I held clerical positions in the oil patch, City of Abilene and City of Sweetwater and Texas Dept. of Human and Protective Services/Child Protective Services. I retired as a City Services Clerk with the City of Sweetwater. I met my husband, Gary Oliver, when we both worked for Sun Oil Company in Abilene. Our jobs moved us to Snyder and then the Sweetwater area, where we now reside in Roscoe. We enjoy gardening and camping/fishing with friends and kids and grand-kids at Lake Leon and Lake Coleman. Favorite past-time is piling everyone on our pontoon boat and cruising!! I have plenty of time for my hobbies now~growing varities of gourds and gourd art, tending my flowers, quilting in the colder months and traveling.
I have fondest memories of great friends, Mary Ann and Molly Frank, being the closest. We loved being part of the marching band, trips on the band bus, and particpated in all the one-act plays. We took first place for our "Baby Face" act. Mary Ann and I have great memories of fishing trips on the Colorado and Lawn Lake with our families, and "style shows and skits" we put on for the folks with our "little brothers, Bill and Larry". Summers afternoons at Abilene State Park swimming pool with Molly Frank made great memories, as well as church activities & sing along's and driving the county roads with friends. The "good ole days"!!
