James Allen 'Jim' Elkins
(January 24, 1946 ~ April 23, 2026)
Jim, son of Robert Jackson 'R.J.' Elkins and Roxie Anna Bowles, married to Jo Ann Sutter and will be buried in Salt Creek Cemetery, Early, Brown County, Texas.

James Allen “Jim” Elkins was called home to be with his Lord on April 23, 2026, in Early, Texas, at the age of 80.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Salt Creek Baptist Church in Early, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Salt Creek Cemetery.
Jim was born to R.J. and Roxie Bowles Elkins on January 24, 1946, in Brownwood, Texas. He graduated from Tuscola High School and attended Howard Payne University, where he received a Pastoral Ministry Certificate. This led him to pastor at Lawn Baptist Church for several years. By this time, he was deeply involved in trading and shoeing horses while working on ranches, and thus began his lifelong love for the cowboy way of life.
He became a father in his early twenties, and proudly managed to keep his three boys alive until he met and married the love of his life, Jo—though, as he might say, “just barely.” From that point on, his family was complete and life became an even greater adventure shared with the family he loved deeply.
A horseman first and foremost, Jim had a natural gift with horses and a deep passion for the lifestyle they represent. He was also a lifelong trader and entrepreneur, always on the lookout for a good deal and never afraid to try something new. Jim never met a stranger; if he gave you a nickname or picked at you, it meant he loved you. He was full of life, laughter, and stories that could go on as long as anyone was willing to listen.
Above all, Jim loved the Lord with all his heart. His faith guided his life, and he made it his mission to share the Gospel with everyone he met. He lived boldly, loved deeply, and leaves behind countless stories and memories that will be shared for generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jeanette Elkins Munn and her husband, Joe; his brother, Robert Vance Elkins and his wife, Vondean; and his parents-in-law, John W. and Elizabeth Sutter.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jo Ann Elkins; his sons, Trampus Elkins, Kevin Elkins and wife Ticia, and Guy Elkins and wife Amanda. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Shi Elkins Lee and husband Sean, Kellie Jo Elkins Creech and husband Ethan, Brody “Bull” Elkins and wife Emma, and Rowdy “Rooster” Elkins and wife Kenzie; along with three great-grandchildren and two more on the way.
Jim’s legacy is one of faith, humor, grit, and a deep love for family. His presence will be greatly missed, but his stories, his spirit, and his unwavering faith will live on in all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Salt Creek Baptist Church.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” — Hebrews 12:1

Judy, daughter of Carl Granvell Hill and Mary Louise Grilliette, married to Andrew James 'Jim' Needham, III and will be buried in Glen Cove Cemetery, Glen Cove, Coleman County, Texas.

Judy Len Hill Needham was born on December 1, 1941, in Big Spring, Texas, to Carl Granvell Hill and Mary Louise Grilliette Hill, just one week before the beginning of World War II.
As a young child, she moved with her family to the Buffalo Gap area near the Hill family homestead. She attended what would become the Jim Ned Consolidated Independent School District and graduated from Jim Ned High School in 1960. During her school years, Judy was a budding artist, contributing artwork to the school annual—an early expression of a lifelong passion for art.
On January 1, 1960, Judy married the love of her life, Jim Needham. They briefly lived in Austin, Texas, while Jim completed his studies at the University of Texas, before returning to Coleman, Texas, where they built their life together.
In Coleman, Judy played an integral role in her husband’s surveying business. She conducted deed research, prepared survey maps, and drafted boundary descriptions—contributing meaningfully to the success of the business through her diligence and attention to detail.
Judy’s life was marked by service to others. She volunteered extensively with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and was an active member of the Coleman Band Boosters, where she served as President during the time the organization acquired the band’s instrument trailer. She also served as President of the Coleman Art League during its formative years, helping foster a community appreciation for the arts.
A gifted artist and dedicated teacher, Judy shared her love of painting with others, teaching art in Coleman for many years. Beyond the classroom and her artwork, she “painted” lives through her generosity, guidance, and example—leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Judy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jim Needham, and their four sons, Andy Needham and wife Linda of Macon, Missouri; Jack Needham of Austin, Texas; Dr. Johnny Needham and wife Misty of Baird, Texas and Josh Needham of Coleman, Texas.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Reid Needham and Cade Needham; Stephanie Gunlock and Dr. Ashley Gunlock; Dr. Autum Pinkerton and husband Daniel; Kaylee Smith and husband Mason; Austin Daugherty; Natalee Needham and her great-grandchildren, Barrett Needham, Brynli Needham and one more arriving in August.
She is further survived by her sister, Carmen Shafer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sister-in-law Marsha Hill of Lawn, Texas; her brother-in-law Ralph Thornhill of Lake Brownwood, Texas and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Noel Lou Benningfield and husband David Benningfield; her sister, Janie Rose Thornhill and her brother, David Carl Hill.
The family is hosting a visitation on Saturday, March 28, 2026 starting at 1:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Andy Needham officiating. Interment will be in the Glen Cove Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
Judy has gone to be with God, Jesus, and the angels. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to the Glen Cove Cemetery Association, 578 CR 446, Talpa, Texas 76882.
We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Needham family by signing the guestbook on Judy’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Needham family.

Bobby Charles Satterwhite, Jr.
(October 23, 1963 ~ February 15, 2026)
Bobby, son of Bobby Charles 'Bob' Satterwhite, Sr. and Jackie Lynn Norman and married to Candace Marie Keith.

Bobby Charles Satterwhite, Jr., 62, left his earthly home on February 15, 2026 — very much in his own style. If you knew Bobby, you understand that he never did anything without a little stubborn independence.
Bobby was born on October 23, 1963, in Winters, Texas, to Bobby C. Satterwhite, Sr. and Jackie L. Norman. He graduated from Jim Ned High School in 1981.
Bobby found his peace outdoors much like his father. He enjoyed welding, tending to his garden, and working with his hands. He had a deep love for music, especially rock and roll, and a fascination with space, often reflecting on the vastness of the universe and the wonder it held. Those who knew him remember how bright he once was and the spark he carried within him. He also had a quiet appreciation for life’s simple, honest moments.
Bobby loved his daughters and often said they were his greatest assets — a reflection of the pride and devotion he carried for his family.
Above all, Bobby will be remembered for his individuality, his strength of spirit, and the way he lived life on his own terms.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby C. Satterwhite, Sr.; his mother, Jackie L. Norman; his stepmother, Peggy S. Satterwhite; and his sister, Donna L. Taylor.
He is survived by his daughters, Alexis Satterwhite and Hailey Satterwhite Morrow and her husband, Nicholas Morrow; his grandsons, Jared Gomez and Legend Satterwhite; and many other loving family members, including sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial to honor and celebrate Bobby’s life will be announced by the family at a later date.
